Originally written as part of a multi-disciplinary composition that includes music and dance, Particulate Motion takes its title from the small bits of material that combine and recombine over the course of its narrative arc. The violin and bongos each cycle frequently through figures of varying color and character, and the resulting combinations and juxtapositions serve as the basis of the piece’s development.
